The interest of the Australian Kelpie emerged in the year 2003 when I got in contact with some of the dogs at the agility competitions. The subsequent year I decided to acquire my first kelpie from the Cefeus kennel, Sweden. I and my kelpie Casey have received several champion titles in agility and dog shows in Sweden and Norway. He even has several titles in almost all classes of obedience. Casey also has the title KORAD which means that he is approved in a big mental test we have in Sweden. We have also been competing in tracking with good results.

The purpose of creating this web based kelpie gallery started when I wanted pictures of Casey’s parents and siblings in a more structured way, one picture of the head and one of the whole body.  The idea of applying this idea to various other kelpies arose immediately after I started photographing Casey’s other relatives the same way. One thing lead to another and the ideas to shape the web gallery of all the dogs I’d been photographing came in the year 2006. In the beginning of the year 2008 the first version of the kelpie gallery came online.  During the years since then, many more kelpies have been added from Sweden, Australia and various countries in Europe. In the time of writing the web gallery consists of 250 dogs.

The purpose of the pictures is that they will come in use for present and future kelpie owners and breeders, in Sweden and other places around the world.  The gallery is supposed to be used as a reference from other websites wanting to refer to specific dogs.  I want to be able to display all types of kelpies both exterior and color terms but also the line basis of the individuals in breeding, competing dogs or just dogs for pleasure.

The aim for the gallery is for it to grow each year, as far as the number of dogs displayed on the webpage. I hope that one day I will be able to travel to Australia to meet these lovely dogs and photograph them from their origin.

I hope that you will enjoy this web based gallery of Australian kelpies.
